Cavern (cenote) diving in the Mayan Riviera
Formed millions of year ago, the cenotes are natural swimming pools which are spread into the Mayan Jungle, all along the Mayan Riviera. The cenote is part of a cave ceiling, which collapsed leaving a natural entrance to the underground river system, and it is here were the magical and mystic adventure begins, the exploration of this spectacular paradise, fresh water with endless visibility, no current, stalagmites, stalagtites and collumns formations...unique scenery becouse of its beauty, there are no words to describe these natural gifts.
They are fed by rainfall that filters through the earths dragging with it minerals. The Yucatan soil is formed by coralline limestone rocks, which allows the formation of the utmost underground cavern system.
All you need to dive in caverns is just your certified diver card.

All of th eights cenotes are beautiful, and each one has its own marvel. The main top centoes are: Chak-Mool (it has the biggest underwater stalactite in the world with a lengh of 12 metres), Ponderosa, Tajmahal, Dos ojos, Carwash, Gran Cenote, calavera and Angelita (deep dive)
